Current Director: Bob HarbortBob Harbort is a professor in the School of Computing and Software Engineering at Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta, Georgia. A licensed professional engineer, he also holds certifications in data processing and computer systems. His PhD is from the Graduate Institute of the Liberal Arts at Emory University, where he studied theories of interpretation and how they may be applied to both human and machine information processing systems.
Former Director: Kieth HopperKeith Hopper has ten years university teaching experience in health professions, and seven years commercial instructional software development experience (MedSoft Rainier). He graduated August 2000 with a Ph.D. in instructional technology from Georgia State University, and holds a master's degree in curriculum and instruction (1984) from Boise State University. Dr. Hopper has been intensively involved in multimedia and other instructional technology development since 1984. His research interests are related to Internet teaching and learning. Dr. Hopper's professional interests include project management, instructional design, performance technology, and technology integration in higher education. His expertise made him a great asset to the center.
First Director: Scott TippensScott Tippens teaches at the department of Electrical & Computer Engineering Technology. He has been serving as a professor here in Southern Polytechnic State University for 10 years. He brings with him years of experience and determination in building the Center for Teaching Excellence. His passion for teaching and willingness to learn has made him the suitable choice as the director.
